Why Creatives Choose Wickside: Work, Inspiration and Community in East London

Space That Sparks Ideas

Creative energy needs room to grow, and Wickside’s apartments are designed with flexibility at their core. Open-plan living means the lounge can easily double as an artist studio, office or rehearsal space. Natural light floods in, making mornings energising and evenings a little softer. For those balancing projects with daily life, the design makes it easy to shift from focus to relaxation in a single space.

Surrounded by Inspiration

Hackney Wick has long been a magnet for makers and artists, and it shows on every wall and in every converted studio. Street art changes weekly, pop-up galleries showcase bold work, and workshops invite you in to learn new skills. Living here means you’re constantly in touch with fresh ideas and shifting styles. Culture isn’t curated at a distance - it happens all around you.

A Scene You Can Join

The creative spirit isn’t closed-off; it thrives on collaboration. Community festivals like Hackney WickED bring people together, but so do smaller gatherings in places like Grow or Stour Studios. One night you’re watching a gig, the next you’re talking ideas with neighbours who happen to be painters, DJs or sculptors. Wickside makes joining the creative scene less about networking and more about simply showing up.
